The Business Enterprise Centre Southern Sydney (BEC) (formerly the Business Enterprise Centre – St George and Sutherland Shire) provides business advice, business training, business coaching and help for all businesses. As a hub for comprehensive and affordable business information, we offer services and expertise to suit every business need. We specialise in assisting businesses with less than 20 employees.

We believe that no two businesses are alike. That’s why we take the time to get to know your individual business situation, your concerns and your aspirations. With a no-size-fits-all approach, we pool our combined decades of experience in business development to consider your unique circumstances, tailoring working solutions to specific obstacles to help you reach your goals.

Our one-on-one Business Guidance sessions equip you with practical business information and advice as our experienced Business Advisors suggest the right BEC service necessary to face the challenges of your business journey. Who We Are

For over 23 years we’ve been a fixture of our local business community; a first port of call for those looking for advice and needing objective assistance. As a financially-minded, award winning not-for-profit organisation, we provide commercial quality services at a subsidised price thanks to partial funding from our supporters: the NSW Department of Trade and Investment, Regional Infrastructure and Services (DTIRIS), our Patrons, Sutherland Shire Council, Hurstville City Council, Rockdale City Council, Kogarah City Council and the St George & Sutherland Shire Leader, as well as hundreds of financial members.

With unmatched knowledge of our region’s business health, our services support the needs of small and medium enterprises located in the St George, Sutherland Shire, Bankstown and Canterbury regions of Southern Sydney. We were founded in 1989 as part of a network of Business Enterprise Centres (BEC’s) across Australia charged with protecting business interests within our community.

The BEC harness the expertise of our diverse team of trusted Business Advisors. With decades of experience across numerous industry sectors, our Advisors can address your concerns and deliver targeted advice by considering your situation from all angles.

As leaders in all areas of business, our Advisors regularly run training and development courses covering a wide range of relevant topics, including financial management, business compliance, business development, marketing and sales, web and e-marketing and leadership and management.

Our well-connected Business Advisors can also put you in touch with specialist professional advisers through our business referral service.
